Aileen is Lycaeum’s featured accordion teacher and performer. Warm and funny, she has an extensive experience in working with students of all ages either individually or in groups. Based in Glasgow, she has graduated from the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. While being a student there she was awarded a Certificate of Higher Education for Music Education by the Conservatoire as well as many recitals and prizes including the First Prize in the UK Accordion Senior recital in 2012 and 2013, and the prestigious Tony and Tania Webster Prize for Rare Russian Music for Keyboard.
She is a very theatrical teacher, having performed on stage for many shows and musicals, which comes in handy when she teaches the Colourstrings Classes in Partick, which are aimed at 3 year olds with around 10 children in the class. Rowan Atkinson once said that young children are the hardest to entertain, so if she can manage that, she can manage anything.
